Prayer
Prayer
Holy Spirit,
You are the source of life and new beginnings.
Fill me with the joy and energy of youth —
a heart that is open, trusting, and ready to serve.
Help me to see the world with wonder and gratitude,
to use my gifts to bring light and hope to others,
and to grow strong in faith and love each day.
When I grow tired or afraid,
renew my spirit and remind me that in You,
I am always young — full of life, purpose, and promise.Amen.
Take a quiet moment now to reflect on the word Youth and what it means to you.
Below you will find this week’s Gospel reading from Sunday’s mass and another piece of scripture on our prayer theme.

Sunday Gospel Reading Luke 21:5-19
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Glory to you O Lord
And while some were speaking of the temple, how it was adorned with noble stones and offerings, he said, “As for these things that you see, the days will come when there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.” And they asked him, “Teacher, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?” And he said, “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them. And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once.”
Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives.
The Gospel of the Lord
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ
Prayer Theme Scripture Matthew 19: 13-15
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew
Glory to you O Lord
Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and went away.
The Gospel of the Lord
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ
If your reading is from a Gospel, we invite you to say/ sing the Alleluia beforehand.
Let us take some time today to respond and reflect on our theme of Youth
Please pick one of the below sections to help you to respond to this week’s theme. Let us know how your form gets on in the comments below.
Watch this video
After you have watched the video, in the comment section below write something about this video that really stood out to you and which small actions you can do as the youth of the church to make a difference.
Poppy Wreath
If you haven’t yet created your poppy wreath in your form, you are now invited to write on your poppy. This can be the name of someone you want to remember during this month or a group of people, for example, ‘the soldiers who died in the war‘
You will then need to cut out your poppies and make your own form poppy wreath.
Once completed, this wreath should be put on your form door during the month of November
Reflection
Pick one of the songs in the music tab to listen to.
As you listen, imagine Jesus welcoming the youth — full of laughter, trust, and love.
Let the words or melody remind you of the joy of being loved by God, just as you are.
As individuals or a form reflect of one or more of the following questions:
- How do you stay hopeful when things in the world feel uncertain or difficult?
- What do you think Jesus meant when He said the kingdom of heaven belongs to those who are like children?
- How can a youthful spirit help you face challenges with faith rather than fear?
In the comment section below… answer one of these questions as a form.
Your mission this week..
C – Community
Let your youthful energy make a difference. Bring life to your community by including others, speaking up for what’s right, or helping someone who needs support.
A – Achieve
Use your drive and creativity as a young person to do your best — in study, sport, or service. When things feel tough, ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen your confidence and focus.
R – Respect
Show maturity in your youth by treating everyone with kindness and fairness. True strength is shown in how you respect yourself and others.
E – Encounter
Take time to connect with God personally. In prayer or quiet reflection, ask Jesus to keep your heart young — open, hopeful, and ready to follow Him
You might want to create your own prayer on the theme of the youth that you have been reflecting on throughout the week, or you could use the prayer below.
Prayer
God of wisdom and love,
you sent Jesus to be the light of the world
and your Spirit to guide us in truth.Open our hearts to your word
and fill us with youthful faith and joy.
Give us wisdom to make good choices
and courage to live with hope and love. With Mary, may we rejoice in your gifts
and share your light with others each day.Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Here are some song suggestions that you could use this week
This week in school, our theme is Youth.
Youth is more than just an age — it’s a spirit of hope, energy, and openness to God.
It’s the courage to dream, to grow, and to believe that with God, every day holds new possibilities.
The Holy Spirit gives us the gift of youthfulness of heart — a faith that stays alive, curious, and ready to serve.
Being youthful in spirit means trusting God’s love, learning from others, and using our gifts to bring light and joy to the world, just as Jesus welcomed and blessed the children who came to Him.
Conversation Starters
Use these questions to start a chat together:
- Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.” What do you think He was teaching us about the value of being young at heart?
- What does being youthful mean to you — is it about age, attitude, or something deeper?
- How can a youthful spirit help you bring hope or kindness to others when things feel negative or stressful?
- Who inspires you to live your faith with energy and joy? What do they do that makes their faith feel alive?
- How can you keep your faith fresh and growing — like a young tree with deep roots and new leaves?
Prayer
God of wisdom and love,
you sent Jesus to be the light of the world,
and your Spirit to guide us in truth and joy.
Open our hearts to your word
and fill us with youthful faith and courage.
Help us to see the world with hope,
to use our gifts for good,
and to bring light and love wherever we go.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Mission
Together, choose something to do:
- Be inspired: Learn about a young saint (like St Dominic Savio, St Thérèse of Lisieux, or Blessed Carlo Acutis) who lived their faith with energy and joy.
- Share your gifts: Use your talents — creativity, music, sport, humour, or kindness — to bring hope and light to your community.
- Pray together: Ask Jesus to help you keep a youthful, open heart that listens, learns, and loves like His.
