Prayer
Prayer
Holy Spirit,
You are the one who builds God’s Kingdom in our world.
Fill us with the courage and purpose we need to play our part.
Give us hearts that seek what is right,
minds that look for ways to bring hope,
and hands ready to serve where we are needed.
Help us to notice those who are struggling,
to stand up for fairness and kindness,
and to use our gifts to make a real difference.
When we feel unsure or overwhelmed,
remind us that we belong to Your Kingdom —
a Kingdom of justice, peace, and love —
and that You are always with us, guiding us forward.Amen.
Take a quiet moment now to reflect on the word Kingdom and what it means to you.
Below you will find this week’s Gospel reading from Sunday’s mass and another piece of scripture on our prayer theme.
If you would like to explore your own scriptures, the link below will take you to open bible which allows you to explore scripture on any theme. Please use the English Standard Version Anglicised (ESVUK) translation –

Sunday Gospel Reading Luke 23:35-43
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Glory to you O Lord
The people stood there watching while the Jewish leaders made fun of him: “He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Messiah whom God has chosen!”
The soldiers also made fun of him: they came up to him and offered him cheap wine, and said, “Save yourself if you are the king of the Jews!”
Above him were written these words: “This is the King of the Jews.”
One of the criminals hanging there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
The other one, however, rebuked him, saying, “Don’t you fear God? You received the same sentence he did. Ours, however, is only right, because we are getting what we deserve for what we did; but he has done no wrong.” And he said to Jesus, “Remember me, Jesus, when you come as King!”
Jesus said to him, “I promise you that today you will be in Paradise with me.”
The Gospel of the Lord
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ
Prayer Theme Scripture Daniel 2:44-45
A reading from the propet Daniel
At the time of those rulers the God of heaven will establish a kingdom that will never end. It will never be conquered, but will completely destroy all those empires and then last forever. You saw how a stone broke loose from a cliff without anyone touching it and how it struck the statue made of iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold. The great God is telling Your Majesty what will happen in the future. I have told you exactly what you dreamed, and have given you its true meaning.”
The Word of the Lord
Thanks be to God
If your reading is from a Gospel, we invite you to say/ sing the Alleluia beforehand.
Let us take some time today to respond and reflect on our theme of Kingdom
Please pick one of the below sections to help you to respond to this week’s theme. Let us know how your form gets on in the comments below.
Watch this video on Catholic Social Teaching
Catholic Social Teaching (CST) helps us build God’s Kingdom on earth by guiding us to act with justice, compassion, and respect for every person. When we care for others, protect the vulnerable, and work for the common good, we make our school and world look more like the loving community Jesus envisioned.
After you have watched the video, pick an aspect of CST that you as a form or individual is going to focus on for this week – display this somewhere in your form room.
In the comment section below let us know what this is going to look like…
Reflection
Pick one of the songs in the music tab to listen to.
As individuals or a form reflect of one or more of the following questions:
- How can you help make God’s Kingdom visible in your school or community through your actions and relationships?
- What does it mean to show love, justice, and peace in everyday life, and how does this reflect God’s Kingdom?
- How can following Jesus’ teachings help you build a sense of belonging and value for everyone around you?
In the comment section below… answer one of these questions as a form.
If you haven’t yet created your poppy wreath in your form, please try to do it this week before the end of November.
You are invited to write on a poppy. This can be the name of someone you want to remember during this month or a group of people, for example, ‘the soldiers who died in the war‘
You will then need to cut out your poppies and make your own form poppy wreath.
Once completed, this wreath should be put on your form door.
Your mission this week on the theme of Kingdom..
C – Care
Show God’s love by caring for the people around you, making His Kingdom visible here and now. Include those who feel left out, support anyone who is struggling, and help build a community where everyone knows they belong.
A – Achieve
Use your talents, effort, and determination to make a positive difference. Whether in study, sport, creativity, or service, aim to achieve in ways that reflect Christ’s teachings.
R – Respect
Treat every person with dignity, fairness, and compassion. Respecting others — even when it’s difficult — reveals the heart of God’s Kingdom.
E – Encounter
Take time to pray, be still, and recognise God at work around you. Ask Jesus to help you see the Kingdom unfolding in everyday moments and to guide you in building it through your words and actions
You might want to create your own prayer on the theme of the Kingdom that you have been reflecting on throughout the week, or you could say the Lord’s Prayer reflecting on the line ‘thy Kingdom come’.
Prayer
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Here are some song suggestions that you could use this week
This week in school, our theme is the Kingdom
The Kingdom of God is the way God dreams the world could be — full of love, fairness, peace, and hope.
Jesus showed us what this Kingdom looks like through the way He lived: welcoming others, caring for those in need, and treating everyone with dignity.
The Holy Spirit helps us to recognise signs of God’s Kingdom in our world and inspires us to play our part in building it.
Living with a “Kingdom mindset” means trying to see others as God sees them, choosing what is right even when it’s difficult, and using our gifts to bring goodness and hope to those around us.
Conversation Starters
Use these questions to begin a chat together:
- Jesus often spoke about the Kingdom of God. What do you think He wanted people to understand about it?
- What does God’s Kingdom look like to you — in your family, school, or community?
- How can you help build God’s Kingdom when life feels busy, stressful, or unfair?
- Who inspires you to live in a way that brings more peace, kindness, or hope into the world?
- What small acts of love or justice could you do this week that reflect God’s Kingdom?
Prayer
God of love and justice,
you sent Jesus to show us your Kingdom
and your Spirit to guide us each day.
Open our hearts to your word
and help us to work for your Kingdom wherever we are.
May we use our gifts for good,
bring peace where there is tension,
and share your love through our words and actions.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Mission
Choose something to do together:
Be inspired: Learn about someone who helped build God’s Kingdom — a saint, a young leader, or someone in your community who works for peace or justice.
Share your gifts: Use what you’re good at — creativity, sport, kindness, encouragement, humour, or practical skills — to bring God’s love and fairness to others.
Pray together: Ask Jesus to help your family notice signs of God’s Kingdom each day and to become people who bring light, peace, and hope.
