What is your experience of the Eucharist?

St Carlo Acutis

During this week, we have reflected on the gift and importance of the Eucharist. The Eucharist is at the heart of our faith, bringing us together as one family in Christ. Through the sharing of bread and wine, we remember Jesus’ love, sacrifice, and promise to always be with us. The Eucharist nourishes us spiritually and inspires us to live as followers of Christ each day.

C – Care

The Eucharist reminds us of Jesus’ loving care for others. Just as Jesus shared a meal with His disciples and gave Himself for us, we are called to care for those around us. Through acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion, we can show God’s love in our school and wider community.

A – Achieve

The Eucharist strengthens and encourages us to become the very best versions of ourselves. We are inspired to use our gifts and talents wisely, work hard, and achieve our full potential while serving others with humility and joy.

R – Respect

The Eucharist helps us to recognise that every person is valued and loved by God. It teaches us to respect one another, appreciating our differences, listening carefully, and treating everyone with dignity, kindness, and understanding.

E – Encounter

In the Eucharist, we encounter Jesus in a special way. We also encounter Him in our daily lives through prayer, friendship, acts of service, and moments of reflection. The Eucharist reminds us that Christ is always present with us, guiding us and walking alongside us each day.

Here are some song suggestions that you could use this week

This week in school, our theme is the Eucharist.

The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith. The Eucharist is a powerful way in which we receive Jesus Christ into our hearts and are united with him as one body. The Eucharist is a source of strength and nourishment, and as we receive it, just as the disciples did at the Last Supper, we are reminded of God’s love for us and of our call to love others.

Prayer

St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226)

I believe that You, O Jesus, are in the most holy Sacrament.
I love You and desire You. Come into my heart. I embrace You. Oh, never leave me. May the burning and most sweet power of your love, O Lord Jesus Christ, I beseech You,
absorb my mind that I may die through love of Your love, who were graciously pleased to die through love of my love.

Mission

Together, choose something to do:

Gather together for a family meal this week and begin by thanking God for the food, the people around the table, and the blessings you have received. During the meal, each person can share one thing they are grateful for, remembering how Jesus shared a meal with His disciples at the Last Supper.

The Eucharist reminds us that we are called to share Christ’s love with others. As a family, choose one act of kindness to carry out this week—help a neighbour, write a thank-you card, donate to a food bank, or support someone who may be feeling lonely.

Set aside a few minutes each day for family prayer or quiet reflection. You might visit your parish church to go to Adoration, light a candle at home, or simply pray together, asking Jesus to help you grow in faith, love, and service to others.
