Prayer
Loving God,
You created each of us in Your image —
unique, precious, and loved.
You teach us that every person is our neighbour,
worthy of respect, kindness, and understanding.Help us to build a world where everyone belongs —
where differences are celebrated,
voices are heard,
and hearts are open. When we see someone left out,
give us the courage to reach out in friendship.
When we are tempted to judge,
remind us to look with compassion.
When we face challenges in welcoming others,
fill us with Your Spirit of patience and love.We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Take a quiet moment now to reflect on the word inclusion and what it means to you.
Below you will find this week’s Gospel reading from Sunday’s mass and another piece of scripture on our prayer theme.

Sunday Gospel Reading Luke 17:11-19
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke
Glory to you O Lord
On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”
The Gospel of the Lord
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ
Weekly Scripture Luke 15:1-7
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke
Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him. And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.”
So he told them this parable: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbours, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ
If your reading is from a Gospel, we invite you to say/ sing the Alleluia beforehand.
Let us take some time today to respond and reflect on our theme of Inclusion.
Please pick one of the below sections to help you to respond to this week’s theme.
Modern day parable
Thinking about Sunday’s Gospel – as a form can you re-frame it into a modern day version?
- Who is the excluded group? Instead of lepers, they could be refugees, the homeless, someone with stammer, or a victim of cyberbullying.
- What does “healing” look like? It might not be a physical miracle, but an act of acceptance, friendship, or standing up for them.
- What is the act of “gratitude”? How does the person who was included show their thanks?
In the comments below, let us know whose story you told…
Watch this video to reflect on how we are all different – inclusion means being open to our differences…
After you have watched the video, in the comment section below write something about this video that really stood out to you.
Reflection
Take some time to reflect and listen to the music as you think about the following questions:
Pick one of the songs in the music tab to listen to as you reflect on these questions.
- Who in my school or community might feel left out, and how could I help them feel included?
- How does my faith teach me to treat others, even if they are different from me?
- Can I remember a time when I felt excluded? How did it make me feel, and what can I do to prevent that for others?
In the comment section below… answer one of these questions as a form.
Your mission this week is…
Look for someone in your community who may be on the margins, take time to make them feel included this week.
What will this look like?
What actions will you take this week to make our community more inclusive?
You might want to create your own prayer on the theme of the Inclusion, that you have been reflecting on throughout the week, or you could use the prayer below.
Prayer
God of light and truth,
you call all of us to live lives of holiness and justice.
Help us to see in one another: a heart which is tender, a mind which is humble
and a care for all people;
so that together we may build up the Body of Christ as a sign of hope and mercy for all.
We make this prayer through Jesus our Lord.
Amen.
(Adapted from a Prayer from Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales for Racial Justice Sunday 2024)
Here are some song suggestions that you could use this week
This week in school, our theme is Inclusion.
Inclusion is about welcoming everyone as a child of God, regardless of their differences. It is about creating a community where everyone feels valued and respected. We can promote inclusion by being open to others and by standing up against discrimination. We can also make sure that everyone has a voice and that everyone is included in decision making.
Conversation Starters
Use these questions to start a chat together:
- Can you think of a time when someone made you feel included or excluded? What did you learn from that experience?
- How do you think Jesus showed inclusion in the way He treated others?
- What would you do if you saw someone being excluded or bullied because of their background or abilities?
Prayer
Lord God,
You have created us in Your image, each of us unique and deeply loved.
May we open our hearts to those around us —
to welcome, respect, and cherish every person we meet.
Help us, Lord, to be more inclusive in our words and actions,
so that everyone may feel Your love through the way we treat them.
Teach us to see Your face in all people —
in those who are different from us,
in those whose voices are not always heard,
and in those who long to belong.
Lord, thank You for the beautiful diversity of Your creation
and for the gifts You place within each of us.
May our school, our homes, and our community
reflect Your love and the unity of Your Spirit.
Amen.
Mission
Together, choose something to do:
- Look for someone in your community who may be on the margins and take time to make them feel included this week.
- Create a poster or collage where each family member contributes something representing themselves — photos, drawings, quotes, or words describing their gifts. Display it as a reminder that everyone has something valuable to offer.
- Cook a meal inspired by different cultures or invite a neighbour/friend from a different background to share a meal.
