Sunday Gospel Reading Matthew 10:26-33
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew
Glory to you O Lord
“So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
The Gospel of the Lord
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ
Prayer Theme Scripture Romans 15: 5-7
A reading from St Paul’s letter to the Romans
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.

Let us take some time today to respond and reflect on our theme of Acceptance
Please pick one of the below sections to help you to respond to this week’s theme. Let us know how your form gets on in the comments below.
How can we build friendships on Acceptance?
Watch this video, then reflect and talk about the questions below…
What message about acceptance do you think the video was trying to share?
Why is it important to accept people who are different from us?
Have you ever felt left out or different?
What helped you feel accepted?
What can we do as a class to make sure everyone feels accepted and included?
What is one thing you learned from the video that you can put into practice this week?
During this week, we have reflected on the importance of acceptance. Jesus welcomed all people with love, compassion, and understanding. He teaches us to see the value and dignity in every person, recognising that we are all uniquely created and loved by God. By accepting ourselves and others, we help to build a community where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and included.
C – Care
Acceptance begins with care. When we show kindness, compassion, and concern for others, we help people feel valued and included. Caring for one another reflects the love that Jesus showed to everyone He met.
A – Achieve
Acceptance helps people achieve their full potential. When we encourage and support one another, everyone has the confidence to use their gifts and talents. By creating an accepting environment, we help others grow and succeed.
R – Respect
Acceptance means respecting the differences that make each person unique. We listen to others, value their opinions, and treat everyone with dignity, recognising that every person is loved by God.
E – Encounter
Through our encounters with others, we learn about different experiences, perspectives, and cultures. Jesus encountered people from all walks of life and welcomed them with love. We are called to do the same, building friendships and helping others feel they belong.
Here are some song suggestions that you could use this week
This week in school, our theme is Acceptance.
Acceptance is about recognising the value and dignity of every person. It reminds us that we are all uniquely created and loved by God. Jesus welcomed people from all walks of life and showed kindness, compassion, and understanding to everyone He met. By accepting ourselves and others, we help to create a community where everyone feels respected, included, and valued.
Conversation Starters
Use these questions to start a chat together:
- Jesus welcomed people who were often left out or treated differently. Why do you think acceptance was so important to Him? How can we follow His example today?
- Have you ever felt accepted by someone when you needed it most? What did they do that made you feel welcomed and valued?
- Sometimes people can feel excluded because of their differences. What can we do at home, school, or in our community to help everyone feel included and respected?
Prayer
Father,
Thank You for creating each of us in Your image and loving us unconditionally. Help us to see the goodness in every person we meet and to welcome others with kindness and compassion. Teach us to respect differences, include those who may feel left out, and build a community where everyone feels valued and loved. Guide us to follow the example of Jesus, who welcomed all people with an open heart.
Amen.
Mission
Together, choose something to do:
Make a special effort to include someone this week. Invite them to join a game, sit with them at lunch, or start a conversation with someone you do not usually speak to.
As a family, think of someone who may need support or reassurance. Write them a note, send a message, or tell them something you appreciate about them.
Talk together about something that makes each family member unique. Celebrate these differences and reflect on how our individual gifts help make our family and community stronger.
