CTK – Rosary – Prayer Resources

Hello everyone, welcome back to CTKPray. The prayer theme for this week is ROSARY.

The Rosary is a prayer that we can all use to meditate on the life of Jesus Christ. It is a powerful tool for prayer and spiritual growth through the intercession of Mary our mother. The Rosary can help us to grow in our faith, to deepen our relationship with God, and to find peace and comfort in difficult times.

Rosary live stream with Bishop Patrick. Monday 7th October 09:30

This Sunday we entered into the twenty-seventh week in Ordinary time.
Ordinary Time in the Catholic Church refers to the liturgical period outside of the major seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. It is a time of growth and reflection on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, rather than a specific event like His birth or resurrection. The name “Ordinary” comes from the Latin word “ordo,” meaning “order,” referring to the numbered weeks that make up this season.

During this liturgical period the colour is green to show growth in the church and as a individual

This week we celebrate:

Monday 7th October – Our Lady of the Rosary
Wednesday 9th October – Saint John Henry Newman
Thursday 10th October – Saint Paulinus
Friday 11th October – Saint Denis, Saint John Leonardi and Saint John XXIII
Saturday 12th October – Saint Wilfrid, Saint Hilda of Whitby
Saturday Mass of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Please note that the responses in red are for everyone to join in with.

Mark 10:13-16 Sunday’s Gospel

Luke 17:5-10

Luke 1:26-38 one of the joyful Mysteries

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke

The Lord is my shepherd;
    I have everything I need.
He lets me rest in fields of green grass
    and leads me to quiet pools of fresh water.
He gives me new strength.
He guides me in the right paths,
    as he has promised.
Even if I go through the deepest darkness,
    I will not be afraid, Lord,
    for you are with me.
Your shepherd’s rod and staff protect me.

You prepare a banquet for me,
    where all my enemies can see me;
you welcome me as an honoured guest
    and fill my cup to the brim.
I know that your goodness and love will be with me all my life;
    and your house will be my home as long as I live.

The Gospel of the Lord

Matthew 26:36-46 one of the Sorrowful Mysteries

Matthew 28:1-10 one of the Glorious Mysteries

Matthew 3:13-17 one of the Luminous Mysteries

Use these videos our on the theme of “Rosary”. These videos help us to feel unity as a church and stand up for those in need.

Visio Divina, meaning “Divine Seeing,” is a form of prayer in the Catholic Church that involves contemplating religious images or art to encounter God. It is similar to Lectio Divina (sacred reading), but instead of focusing on scripture, the participant meditates on visual representations, such as icons, paintings, or stained glass. The process usually involves several steps: gazing at the image, meditating on its meaning, praying in response to what is seen, and contemplating how the image speaks to one’s life. This practice deepens spiritual insight and fosters a connection with the divine through sacred imagery.

Your mission this week is to find time to pray the Hail Mary or the Rosary this week.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
